How to start with FreeCad

1.) Close "start/welcome" tab 2.) Open "Part Design" workbench 3. Ctrl-n "Create New" 4. Ctrl-s "Save" 5. Create Body (Tasks --> Create Body) 6. Switch to "Modell" view in combo box 7. "F2" --> Rename body ("first-body" for example)

Options to create a model

a) Use prebuild models like cylinders b) Start with a 2d scetch

Using a prebuild model

1.) Select the body object with your mouse 2.) Choose the geometry you like, for example "cylinder" 3.) Choose radius, thickness etc. 4.) Choose "X Y Plane" as reference 5.) Pay attention to place the upper plane on Z 0. 6.) Press enter

Using a 2D Scetch

1.) Switch to "Tasks" tab in combo view 2.) Select "Create Scetch" 2.) Choose "XY_Plane" 3.) Draw circle using the "circle" tool 4.) Choose "radius 270°" 5.) Apply 6.) Back in "Part Design" workbench choose "Pad a selected scetch" done
